At the Department of Nephrology, Aster MIMS, we are dedicated to academic excellence and continuous improvement in patient care. With a track record of over 1000 successful kidney transplantations since 2006 and more than 2500 hemodialysis sessions conducted monthly, we provide cutting-edge clinical services to meet the diverse needs of our patients. Our peritoneal dialysis program enables home-based dialysis, empowering patients with flexibility and improved quality of life.
Furthermore, our department boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including dedicated critical care units, transplant ICU, and interventional nephrology services. With advanced technologies such as point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) for regular assessments and a well-equipped renal pathology laboratory, we ensure accurate diagnostics and tailored treatment plans for each patient.

Aster MIMS hospital was always my first option for pursuing my super- specialty in Nephrology . I am ever thankful and proud to be trained under the excellent guidance of Dr.Sajith Narayanan (our HOD) , Dr.Ismail N.A, Dr.Sreejesh B, Dr.Feroz Aziz , Dr Thushara and Dr Rehna . Academically, our department was outstanding with great exposure in renal transplantation, and procedures along with all new updated resources in RRT. A special mention is needed for our dialysis unit , staff and Manager Mr. Sunil Kumar for there support. I miss my department, teachers and my co PGs.
I am profoundly grateful to God Almighty for giving me the wisdom to choose Aster MIMS Calicut, for my Nephrology superspeciality training. Over the course of three enriching years, I have come to realize that nephrology is practiced here at the international standards. Our training extended beyond mere subject matter expertise; it instilled in us a holistic approach to medicine, shaping us into true physicians.
