2020-2022
Enrolling in the DNB pediatrics course at Aster MIMS Calicut amid the COVID pandemic was a pivotal decision. The pediatric department, renowned as the finest in North Kerala, provided a comprehensive learning experience. In PICU, under Dr. Sathish Kumar, and NICU, led by Dr. Preetha Remesh, exposure to diverse cases enhanced our confidence. The curriculum encompassed subspecialties like pediatric cardiology, surgery, neurology, gastroenterology, hemato-oncology, nephrology, genetics, and rheumatology. Guided by HOD Dr. Suresh Kumar E K, the academic training was outstanding. Consultants were approachable, fostering a supportive environment even during the pandemic. The theoretical and clinical knowledge acquired served as a robust backup during exams. The postgraduate camaraderie was exceptional, creating a sense of family that extended beyond the course. Bonding with nursing staff further enriched the experience. Festivals, birthdays, cake cuttings, get- togethers, and tours strengthened the feeling of being part of a close-knit community, creating lasting memories. I wholeheartedl… Read more
