Department of Laboratory Medicine in Aster MIMS follows strict quality control procedures under International Organization for Standardization (ISO), National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) and National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories (NABL) guidelines. The subdepartments under laboratory medicine include histopathology, cytology, haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biopsy and transfusion medicine, all of which are equipped with state of the art facilities and dispense superior quality service.

We have skilful and supportive technical staff in the laboratory. Academic sessions and examinations are conducted routinely in the department to help the residents achieve thorough knowledge and competence. Residents are encouraged to participate in conferences and CMEs in addition to regular interdepartmental academic activities in the hospital. We also proudly hold the record of having 100% pass rate at first attempt in the final examination of DNB ever since we started the DNB residency program.
Teaching program in Department of Pathology:
By the end of their tenure, PGs will have an all round exposure to all specialities since this is a tertiary level centre. They will be able to report all routine cases as well as learn the approach to challenging cases.

My three years at Aster MIMS were great and a memory to cherish for lifetime.It was full of learning and grooming oneself. I am very proud and blessed to be a part of this institution.I have learnt to be disciplined towards my studies and career.The teachers here are the best as they are friendly and motivating.They are very focused towards our career and has very good subject knowledge.Our department was excellent in all new modalities including flow cytometry, IF and IHC.The teaching here is par excellence and practically oriented. Participating in daily academic sessions in department,Wednesday and Friday clubs, and conferences have evoked a sense of confidence and responsibility in me. We had all celebrations like birthday parties, Onam ,Christmas etc. in our department, which were relieving the stress of hectic PG life.Aster MIMS pathology department is a perfect place for the budding pathologists.
